Play Leaders

All staff at Leek Play Hub are either qualified or undertaking qualifications in a related area of interest or has a vast experience of working with children.  The staff employed at Leek Play Hub, are age 16 plus and have a DBS check in place. Whilst our Play Leaders are equipped with the skills to manage groups of children in our activity classes, the behaviour of any child visiting the setting for open play or activity classes, remains the sole responsibility of their parent/carer at all times.

Working in education is a pathway I have discovered since having my little girl, Isla.

Being a parent has deepened my appreciation for the role educators play in a child’s development and inspired me to pursue a career in this field.

Currently, I am studying for a degree in primary education, which equips me with the knowledge and skills to create engaging and effective learning experiences for young children. I am passionate about fostering a love of learning, encouraging curiosity, and supporting each child’s unique journey. I work as  Teaching Assistant in a local primary school. I am a qualified beautician so I am a regular Play Leader at the Pamper Parties!

As play leader, I have the privilege of creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where children can explore, imagine and express themselves freely. Witnessing their joy and curiosity is incredibly rewarding. My personal experiences and academic pursuits have solidified my commitment to making a positive impact at Leek Play Hub.

Play Leader

Hi, my name is Ali, I am a mum to my 4 children and 2 bonus children.

I have always had a great passion for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, I find it such a rewarding and joyful career and feel so fortunate to be able to provide support and be a part of a child’s journey through the adventures of their young minds and curiosities.

I have recently completed my Level 3 Diploma in supported teaching and learning, my next step is to broaden my knowledge within SEND, and to also continue studying towards a degree in SEND education in the near further, but my aim is to continue working alongside these amazing children. I am preparing to embark on an Early Years Apprenticeship so that I can work with Little Sunflower Nursery in the afternoons.

I am qualified in massage and reflexology too, offering baby massage and reflexology classes.

Studying, allowed me to be able to expand my knowledge and skills to be able to provide an inclusive and fun learning and supporting experience for all young children, their abilities and uniqueness. I am currently undertaking a Play Therapy course, which I will be implementing into my approach at Leek Play Hub. As a play leader at Leek Play Hub, allows me to help create an inclusive, safe and encouraging surrounding for all children. I feel all learning needs to be fun and inclusive, this is what I will bring to my role as a play leader, at the Leek Play Hub, all this is possible.
